What we collect, and what we do with it.

Short version: the enquiry forms send us what you typed. Nothing here sets a cookie or asks you to make an account. Page views are counted, by a service that cannot work out who you are — named below with everyone else.

Last updated 13 October 2026. This page covers the AutomateSmall website. Work we do inside your business is covered separately, in writing, before it starts.

What this website collects

Two forms send us anything: the walkthrough request and the “not seeing yours?” box. When you submit one, we receive what you typed — the kind of business you run, roughly how many people work there, what eats up your time, your email address, and anything you ticked in the 2-minute check. Nothing more. The form carries no hidden field.

If the form cannot reach us — you are offline, or something on our side is down — the page opens your own email app with the same message instead, and you decide whether to send it. Either way you can see exactly what goes.

The 2-minute check keeps your answers in your browser’s session storage so the page can show you a result. They stay on your device unless you submit a form, and your browser clears them when you close the tab.

The server this site runs on keeps no access log, so simply reading these pages is not recorded anywhere.

We don’t ask for financial details, customer records or staff records through this website, and you shouldn’t send them here.

What we do with it

We use what you send to prepare for and arrange a conversation with you, and to reply afterwards. That is all — there is no mailing list and nothing on this site signs you up for one.

We will never sell your data, and we will never hand it to anyone for their own marketing. That is different from the handful of companies whose software we use to run the site and handle email: they can technically see what passes through them, which is what the next section is about. Saying “we never share your data” while that is true of any business would be the easy sentence, not the honest one.

Who else can see it

Named plainly, because “service providers” tells you nothing:

Google. The forms post to a small script we wrote, running in our own Google account, which turns your submission into an email to us. Google operates that script and the mailbox it sends to, so your submission passes through Google’s systems. Google also serves the typefaces this site uses, which means your browser fetches them from Google on each page and Google sees your IP address when it does — that happens whether or not you ever fill in a form, and we never receive it.

Cloudflare. Hosts the website and serves every page you load. It also counts page views for us. That counting sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you to any other site: it records which page was opened, the site you arrived from, your browser and device type, and your country. We see totals. We cannot see you, and we cannot single you out from anyone else in them.

That is the whole list. If it changes, this page changes.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while there’s a reasonable chance of a conversation, and deleted when there isn’t. Ask us to delete what you sent and we’ll do it and confirm. The website itself stores nothing at any point — there is no database behind it, only the email that reaches our inbox.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us — there’s no form for it, and there doesn’t need to be.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies at all — no advertising, no tracking, none. Your visit is counted, though, and we would rather say so than let “no cookies” imply otherwise. Cloudflare, which serves the site, records that a page was opened and the broad shape of the request. It does that without a cookie, without storing anything on your device, and without following you to any other website. We get totals; nothing in them points back to a person.

One thing we do want to flag, because “no cookies” is often said and left there. The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches them from Google on each page and Google sees your IP address when it does. We don’t get that information and we don’t ask Google for it, but it is a third party seeing a request, so you should know. Serving the fonts from this site’s own server removes it entirely, and if we do that, this paragraph goes.
